In Kokimotoʼs work, the imagined character of the artist is what we come across most often – a tragicomic, noir hybrid between a man and a cat. It materializes out of the blue, comments on trifles, never promises good taste, but irony and provocation. It appropriates popular images, wades into kitsch and enjoys worshiping idols. The anti-hero as a social critique. Arguments against this sort of impudence are useless.
